Executive Chef
Spice Trade Brewery & Kitchen is seeking an experienced Executive Chef who is passionate about food and has proven experience managing people and developing recipes. This is an exciting opportunity to work for an award winning Brewpub with a seasonally rotating menu of globally inspired dishes. We welcome your creative input and because of our rotating, globally inspired menu, no cuisine is off the table. You will have the opportunity to collaborate with our brewing team on beer dinners, beer and food pairings, and even the chance to brew your own beer. This position will report directly to the Owner.
This position will require:
- 3-5 years of experience as an Executive Chef
- Strong attention to detail and communication skills
- Proven experience managing and holding others accountable
- Proven experience developing dishes from a wide range of cuisines
The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic and passionate about good food and excited about leading a from-scratch kitchen who is willing to check their ego at the door. This is a working Executive Chef position and you will be responsible for working the line, expo, prep, and any other positions as needed. Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.
Key responsibilities include:
- Manage a kitchen staff of 7-10 employees including dishwasher, Sous Chef, and line cooks
- Oversee kitchen operations in accordance with the organization’s standards
- Maintain and develop kitchen SOP’s, checklists, and procedures
- Manage kitchen staff to ensure they are performing their job duties, prepping, cooking, strictly following recipes and plating properly
- Onboard & provide training to all kitchen staff including monitoring ongoing progress and providing continuous feedback
- Work with ownership to develop 3 unique menus per year focusing on different regions of the world
- Monitor inventory daily and maintain waste log, prep list and needs list
- Monitor and control labor and COG’s in accordance with company targets
- Ensure kitchen staff adherence to scheduled hours and discipline when necessary
- Always maintain appropriate staffing levels in the kitchen and create weekly schedules
- Place food orders and put away orders as needed
- Ensure every plate leaving the kitchen is to the company’s standards

Sous Chef
Full Time – Salary – Scratch Kitchen
Spice Trade Brewery & Kitchen is seeking an experienced Sous Chef who is passionate about food and has proven experience managing people. This is an exciting opportunity to work for an award winning Brewpub with a seasonally rotating menu of globally inspired dishes. We welcome your creative input and because of our rotating, globally inspired menu, no cuisine is off the table. You will have the opportunity to collaborate with our brewing team on beer dinners, beer and food pairings, and even the chance to brew your own beer. This position will report directly to the Executive Chef.
This position will require:
- 3-5 years of experience as a Sous Chef
- Strong attention to detail and communication skills
- Proven experience managing and holding others accountable
- Ability to work autonomously and take the lead as necessary
The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic and passionate about good food and excited about leading a from-scratch kitchen who is willing to check their ego at the door. This is a working Sous Chef position and you will be responsible for working the line and performing all kitchen duties. Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.
Key responsibilities include:
- Manage a kitchen staff of 7-10 employees including dishwasher, line cooks and lead line cooks
- Oversee kitchen operations in accordance with the organization’s standards
- Manage kitchen staff to ensure they are performing their job duties, prepping, cooking, strictly following recipes and plating properly
- Assist in onboarding & provide training to all kitchen staff including monitoring ongoing progress and providing continuous feedback
- Maintain communication with Executive Chef about all kitchen operations
- Monitor inventory daily and maintain waste log, prep list and needs list
- Ensure kitchen staff adherence to scheduled hours and disciplining when necessary
- Maintain appropriate staffing levels in the kitchen at all times by making appropriate cuts and communicating with the Executive Chef when increased staffing is needed
- Place food orders and put away orders as needed
- Execute prep to Executive Chef’s specification and delegate prep as appropriate
- Able to execute every dish on menu to the Executive Chef’s standards
- Ensure every plate leaving the kitchen is to the Executive Chef’s standards
